Song of the day – 269: Pussy Patrol
My iTunes library throws up the most unexpected delights sometimes.
I can’t recall if this was a recommendation, or what. Really, it’s a no-brainer that…
- I’m going to love most any all-female band called something like Pussy Patrol.
- I’m going to love a trio over most anything else.
- I’m going to love most bands who favour antique artefacts, such as cassette tapes.
- I’m going to love most any band whose self-described sound is “3 nerds locked in their dirty bedrooms for too long. tired of not knowin how to play, they tried anyway.”
- I’m going to love most any band who wanted to be The Spice Girls, “but our drummer don’t wash her hair every week”.
- I’m going to love a band who favour rudimentary iconoclasm and thumped/brat drums over most anything else.
- I’m going to love most any band who shout and harmonise like The Shaggs, or Bratmobile.
- You can’t deny the appeal of a song called ‘Lick My Periods’.
- You can’t deny the appeal of all the above.
- It’s just a fucking shame this French trio no longer exist.
No video to watch, but here’s a link to the MySpace – I totally recommend the song ‘Life Is Too Short’. That’s also the title of a split cassette release with Neonates (Ludus to PP’s Petticoats)… well worth tracking down, if you can.
