Yep. Another of those ubiquitous End Of Year lists. Page views in brackets [Ed’s note – the figures only include views for the main page, not for the secondary comments pages etc]. Remember that Collapse Board only went live at the end of August 2010.

P.S. The next 10 most read entries on Collapse Board were mostly from the 1001 Albums You Should Die Before You Hear series.

1. Ari Up R.I.P. (6,155 views)
I moved to London because of The Slits. More specifically, I moved to London because of a song on The Slits’ debut album Cut called “Shoplifting”. It sounded as though the four girl musicians were having such a great, great time – all the squeals and giggles of glee as they ran shrieking away from the besieged store.
2. my advice for aspiring music critics (4,657 views)
The music industry is not your friend. Unless you choose to make it so.
3. 1001 Albums You Should Die Before You Hear, pt 1 (2,857 views)
(Readers comments): haha. pretty decent. I’m a big fan of number 25 and number 50 but no matter. having many pearl jams in there makes up for slagging nomeansno
4. quite a revealing blog entry about editorial policy at Q and NME (2,760 views)
Plan B could easily have sold more than a nominal number of copies, given corporate backing. Same way almost any pop song could be a major hit, given enough marketing. We didn’t want the corporate backing.
5. Everett True’s Top 5 albums of 2010 (2,429 views)
My Disco understand that a wig-out isn’t a wig-out until it’s been pummelled into the ground, unmercifully – the longer the better.
6. more on Washington (2,089 views)
Australia. You worry me sometimes.
7. It’s just another shitty music award. Who gives a crap? (2,079 views)
The AIR awards are a crock of shit, not worthy of even semi-serious discussion, but how – in that – do they differ from any of the other feted awards the Australian music industry sees fit to give away on an alarmingly regular basis?
8. 21 femme-led pop/punk recommendations from Facebook (1,997 views)
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITES! The four entries with the most votes I’ll feature in my next Bust column. Or maybe they could just give me the whole music section this time around. Some of these are fucking amazing!
9. how the music press works (1,725 views)
If you are a TITLE’s staff member and are approached by any external media to write, freelance or comment on any issue (music or other) the enquiry must be routed to **** in PR for approval before you agree to anything.
10. Frankly! It was a weird day, 04.09.10 (1,547 views)
I made my way into Frankly! It’s a Pop Festival a touch late and having missed Lawrence English, Guy Blackman and Fabulous Diamonds… oh, and apparently the memo to dress like an indie hipster and strongly impose all hipster qualities, namely that of not talking to anyone outside your direct friendship group, sitting on the floor during gigs and a strict, no dancing and no fun policy.
