The Guardian asked me to provide some suggestions as to what should be topping the Hottest 100 in Taylor Swift’s stead.

Now, this was before my sudden – rather alarming – conversion to Taylor Swift’s new album 1989, otherwise I might just have voiced the opinion that many share: what the hell is wrong with Taylor Swift topping triple j’s Hottest 100?

Whatever. Here are my suggestions, all totally inappropriate of course (uh, Ela Stiles – really?), but I thought you might enjoy seeing them.

If nothing else, it’s a reasonable indication of one side of my taste. The top 5 are all Australian.
